Sermon Overview
Nehemiah 6:3-13
Jon shared Nehemiah’s story and the opposition that he faced. Nehemiah’s
enemies tried to set him up to fail. He saw the trap that they were setting up for
him. Because he understood his purpose, he saw that it was an attack on his
purpose. It even got to the point in verse 10 that he received death threats.
God has a specific vision for you. He wants to use you to introduce himself
to others. He is calling us to partner with Him and others to change the world
around us. Ultimately our mission at NorthGate is to know Christ and to make Him
known. Because Jesus built a bridge between us and God, we now get to be
bridge builders from the world to Jesus. We have been called to make Christ known
to our city!
We have an amazing opportunity to ask God what His purpose is for us. We
were encouraged to spend time with God and ask him what our purpose is.
Ephesians 3:20 says “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we
ask or imagine, according to the his power that is at work within us.” When we form
a partnership with Christ, we then can know our purpose.
