What to Expect:
Parents are able to check kids into our classrooms prior to service starting. Once they're checked-in and have a security label, the kids play with our teachers in their classroom with some ice breaker type games and activities. We encourage our teachers to get to know your kids and build meaningful relationships with them. We try to make Kids Campus as fun as possible while still providing bible based lessons. After about 15 minutes, the Pre-school - 5th grade classrooms all gather in our Kids Theater room for Large Group Worship. Here, the kids worship with lyric videos, and watch a basic video of the week's lesson. The large group leader will then speak a bit with the kids to help reinforce the lesson. The kids then break back into their age appropriate classrooms for a small group lesson. Each age group learns things differently so the small groups have lesson based games and activities specific to the child's age.
Kids campus Truths
We Are Messy.
We want our students to understand that making mistakes is a part of the spiritual journey and a part of our human nature. So rather than feeling that they need to keep a “clean” appearance or that they are “not good enough” to be a part of the church, we want to establish an open dialogue for students to share what they are struggling with in their lives. We hope that our students are able to approach our Kids Campus leaders to deal with their “messiness” in a healthy, God-centered manner. We hope that addressing these issues allow students to grow in wisdom and maturity in their faith.
Romans 3: 23-24
We Are Loved.
No matter how “messy” we may be, God will always love us for who we are. God has made each student in His image. Therefore, each student is a special, unique creation that reflects God’s glory. He cares deeply for us and there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. In a world of social media and cultural pressures, we hope they will reflect on the everlasting love of God.
I John 3: 1
We Are Called.
In 1 Samuel 17, David believed he was called to defeat Goliath and to help the Israelites win the battle against the Philistines. The people around him scoffed at his weapon and his size, but David proved he was better equipped than they had thought! This same idea applies to our students. Though our students may be “small”, we believe they can make a BIG impact on the world by using their God-given talents and abilities. We hope to foster an environment where students can practice and develop their gifts so that they may go into the world and share the love of Christ.
Matthew 28: 19-20
